The blog WafflesAtNoon.Com was very first to expose the Acai berry diet blog scam and it has now been confirmed by the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI). The report shows that over 75 Acai berry diet blogs show “daily women” who have used the Acai berry products to lose weight. Each Acai berry blog has a photo of the woman before using Acai berry and then an after using Acai berry photo. Each Acai berry diet blog claims the photo is of the woman owning the blog – so the same photo is used over 60 times with 60 different names.
Even more upsetting is that this woman who has lost weight does not even exist in US. Later they found the woman a German model named Julia. Anyone can buy her photo from a stock photo website for about $1.50. The fake Acai berry diet blogs photo shopped her photo to create before and after images.
This latest report of over 75 Acai berry scam blogs is very alarming; first we had the bogus free trial Acai berry sites, now we have over 75 bogus diet blogs – this is completely shameful.
The efforts of the BBB and CSPI to warn consumers about the Acai berry scams are just appraisable; they want to ensure that consumer is not in a state to throw the baby out with the bathwater.
